Vicky L. Barker '85, Lowell Chow '10 Win California Lawyer of the Year Awards
King Hall alumni Vicky L. Barker '85 and Lowell Chow '10 have been honored with California Lawyer magazine's "Lawyer of the Year" (CLAY) awards.
Barker was honored in the magazine's Civil Rights category for her work as part of a team of attorneys who won a landmark U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruling that helps level the playing fields for girls and boys in high school.
Chow was recognized for his work as part of a team that successfully advocated, on behalf of environmental organizations and the commercial fishing industry, that California's public trust doctrine applies to the state's groundwater resources that affect surface river and stream flows. Professor Richard Frank '74 was also part of the legal team, and is also being honored with a CLAY award.
