Tamayo '78 Returns as Guest Speaker
William Tamayo '78 returns to UC Davis on October 30, 2006, to speak about recent litigation on behalf of farm workers suffering from sexual harassment and illegal discrimination. Tamayo is the regional attorney in San Francisco for the U.S. government's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency that enforces the nation's laws against employment discrimination. He has brought a number of landmark cases on behalf of farm workers suffering severe sexual harassment and discrimination in California fields. He will discuss EEOC's work on these issues, as well as the numerous judgments and settlements for farm workers that they have obtained during the last several years.
The event will be held in the UC Davis School of Law Moot Courtroom from 3:10 to 5:00 p.m. Interested students and faculty are invited.
