Stephan H. Small '84 has been appointed Judicial Magistrate for Jefferson County, Iowa. The Magistrate Court has jurisdiction of simple misdemeanor criminal offenses, small claims up to $5,000, FED actions, and involuntary mental commitment proceedings. In addition, the magistrate considers applications for search warrants and performs civil marriages.

Small will begin the part-time position on April 1. He will continue with his civil practice.
