Senior Associate Dean Afsharipour, Professor Miazad Take Part in Penn Carey Law Events
Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Afra Afsharipour participated at two events hosted by the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School’s Institute for Law and Economics.
On Dec. 7, Afsharipour served as a commentator for a work-in-progress presentation by University of Florida Associate Professor Ben Johnson at the second annual Junior Faculty Business and Financial Law Workshop. UC Davis Law Professor Amelia Miazad also presented as part of the workshop.
On Dec. 8, Afsharipour was a commentator at the Institute for Law and Economics’ Fall Corporate Roundtable’s “ESG Amnesia in M&A Deals” panel.
Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include comparative corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional law. Her scholarship has appeared in or is forthcoming in numerous law reviews, including the Columbia Law Review, the University of Chicago Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, the Vanderbilt Law Review, and the UC Davis Law Review.
Professor Amelia Miazad is an expert on the nexus between corporate law and environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Professor Miazad’s work has been published in the Vanderbilt Law Review, Minnesota Law Review and UC Davis Law Review, among other leading publications. Before coming to Davis, Professor Miazad was a Senior Research Fellow at UC Berkeley School of Law. At Berkeley Law, she founded and led the Business in Society Institute.
