Ruben Villalobos '98 Elected to Modesto City School Board

Ruben Villalobos '98 has been elected to the Modesto City School Board and will be sworn in as a trustee on November 24.  Villalobos is a partner in the Law Office of Meyer and Villalobos in Modesto.

Villalobos said he was "very excited" to be joining the board of the Modesto City district, which serves 31,000 students and oversees an annual budget exceeding $200 million.  "I come from a family of educators," he said, "and I hope to use my experience as a lawyer and small business owner to keep the expected budget cuts that the district faces as far from the classroom as possible."

Villalobos added that he was proud to be following in the footsteps of King Hall alumni such as Solange Gonsalves Altman '80 and the Honorable Ricardo Cordova '79, who have served on the Modesto board, and that he would be pleased to accept any advice from members of the Law School community who are involved in K-12 education law and policy.
