Rosenthal '06 on Nominating Committee for New Student Regent

A selection committee of the UC Board of Regents, which included law student Adam Rosenthal '06, nominated Benjamin Allen, a UC Berkeley law student as student regent for 2007-08.

Rosenthal was appointed in September 2004 by The Regents to serve as the student Regent for a one-year term beginning July 1, 2005. He is a member of the Educational Policy, Health Services, and Investments committees. Last November, Rosenthal made the motion to bring a plan to divest the university's holdings in companies engaged in significant business relationships that help make it possible for the Sudan government to continue acts of genocide in Darfur.

In July 2006, Maria C. Ledesma, a UCLA graduate student in education, will replace Rosenthal as student regent, followed by Allen.
