Rogelio Villagrana '02 runs for School District Board

Rogelio Villagrana '02, a recent Law School alumnus, is one of four candidates running for the Woodland School Board of Trustees. Villagrana is deputy supervisor for Yolo County Supervisor Frank Sieferman Jr. and a Parent Advocate.

In a recent article for the Woodland Daily Democrat, Villagrana told a reporter that education is what gives people opportunities, and he intends to work to create learning and working environments where all children can learn and excel. Villagrana is the first in his family to graduate from high school and college. He majored in Chicano Studies at Davis and then went on to study law at King Hall. While in law school, he was awarded the Maggie Schelen Public Service Scholarship, which is awarded to an outstanding law student who has demonstrated a strong commitment to public interest work.
