Robert Kidd '77 Helped Create Nonprofit Aquatic Center
Robert Kidd '77 was profiled in Columbia College Today for his role in helping to found the Jack London Aquatic Center in Oakland, CA. The mission of the center is to inspire the diverse communities of Oakland, especially youth, to experience their estuary waterfront, for purposes of recreation, education and competition. Since construction was completed in 2002, the center has developed a number of programs for interacting with the communities of Oakland. "Diversity is now one of the defining parts of my life," Kidd says. "Mainly, because I'm an Oakland guy. I want to do good things for our city."
