Professors Ikemoto, Joslin Discuss Leaked Draft, Roe's Future in Joint 'UC Davis Live,' 'Insight' Interviews

Professors Lisa Ikemoto and Courtney Joslin offered their expertise on the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade during a May 12 “UC Davis Live” livestream event. 

Ikemoto and Joslin discussed the implications of the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe with host Soterios Johnson and fielded questions from the audience. Watch a replay of the livestream. 

On May 16, Ikemoto and Joslin reteamed for an appearance on Capital Public Radio’s “Insight with Vicki Gonzalez” program. The pair discussed the legal and practical ramifications of a Roe reversal. Listen to the episode. 

Lisa Ikemoto is a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law. She teaches bioethics, health care law, public health law, reproductive rights, law and policy, and marital property. Her research areas include reproductive rights and justice, especially the ways that race, gender, disability and wealth mediate access to and impacts of biomedical technology use and health care. 

Courtney Joslin, a Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law, teaches constitutional law, employment discrimination, family law, and sexual orientation, gender identity and the law. Joslin is a leading expert in the areas of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and unmarried couples.
