Professors Hing, Cooper to Participate in USF Haiti ‘Teach-in'

Professors Bill Hing and Holly Cooper take part in a "Teach-in on Haiti," a campus-wide, half-day event at the University of San Francisco on April 19 intended to provide an overarching view of the situation facing the Haitian people following the devastating earthquake that struck in January 2010.  Professor Hing will moderate a panel discussion of the legal response to the crisis in which Professor Cooper, recently returned from a humanitarian mission to Haiti, will be a panelist.

Professor Hing is recognized nationally as an immigration law and community lawyering expert. He is the founder of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center in San Francisco.

Professor Cooper serves as staff attorney at the UC Davis Immigration Law Clinic. Her areas of specialty include immigration law and detained immigrants' rights.
