Professors Börk, Frank, students participate in Yosemite Environmental Law Conference

Professors Karrigan Börk and Richard M. Frank led a contingent of UC Davis Law students at the California Lawyers Association’s 2019 Environmental Law Conference, held Oct. 17-20 at Yosemite National Park.

Börk moderated and spoke on the panel “Deltas in the Delta,” which addressed legal issues tied to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Frank organized and spoke on the panel “Recent Environmental Law Developments in the U.S. Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and California Supreme Court,” and another focused on the Public Trust Doctrine in California environmental law.

Professor Börk teaches and researches in the areas of environmental law, natural resources, and administrative law. He graduated with Distinction and Pro Bono Distinction from Stanford Law School in 2009, and completed his Ph.D. in Ecology at UC Davis in September 2011. He received the Shapiro Family Award in 2011 as the Outstanding Ph.D. Graduate in Ecology at UC Davis. He clerked for Tenth Circuit Chief Judge Mary Beck Briscoe, U.S. District Court Judge Julie Robinson, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Kansas Judge Janice Karlin.

Professor of Environmental Practice Richard M. Frank ’74 is a leader in the field of environmental law and the founding director of the California Environmental Law and Policy Center at UC Davis School of Law.
