Professor Larson makes the media rounds following publication of new book

Professor Carlton F.W. Larson spoke to several media outlets and wrote for others following the publication of his second book, On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law, in September.

On Oct. 9, Larson spoke with host Andrew Keen on the podcast "Keen On." Larson also spoke to host Chris Voss for the Chris Voss Show podcast.

Larson discussed his new book on The Young Turks’ “The Conversation” podcast on Oct. 14.

On Oct. 16, Larson appeared on both “The 8 O’Clock Buzz” on WORT radio in Madison, Wis., and “Leonard Lopate at Large” on New York public radio station WBAI. Larson also discussed the history of treason in the United States, and his new book, on the Oct. 23 “Versus History Podcast.”

In an Oct. 14 piece written for Public Seminar, Larson considered whether the militia members accused of planning to kidnap the Michigan governor have committed treason. Larson also wrote an essay, titled “Treason, the Death Penalty, and American Identity,” for the History News Network.

Carlton Larson's research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history. One of the nation’s leading authorities on the law of treason, Professor Larson is the author of the ABA Silver Gavel Award finalist book The Trials of Allegiance: Treason, Juries, and the American Revolution (Oxford University Press). His new book, On Treason: A Citizen’s Guide to the Law (Ecco/HarperCollins), was published on Sept. 29, 2020.
