Professor Larson Comments on School Shootings for George Washington University Paper

Professor Carlton Larson commented for The GW Hatchet, an independent student newspaper at George Washington University, on how colleges and universities may respond to security threats posed by school shooting incidents.

Professor Larson said that arming students and faculty members would likely result in additional safety issues if guns were misplaced, discharged accidentally, or stolen. Moreover, “the time and money it would take if we were talking about arming everybody would be extraordinary,” said Larson.

Carlton Larson's research interests focus on constitutional law and legal history, with a strong emphasis on the 18th century.
