Professor Joslin Helps Educate Judges on Michigan Family Protection Act
Professor Courtney Joslin was a panelist at a Feb. 6 event hosted by the Michigan Judicial Institute to educate the state’s judges about the Michigan Family Protection Act.
The act, which goes into effect April 1, updates Michigan’s parentage statutes to protect families formed through IVF and other forms of assisted reproduction.
Professor Joslin is a leading scholar in the field of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and non-marital couples. She is a two-time Dukeminier Award recipient and the 2023 recipient of UC Davis Law’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
