Professor Joslin Comments on FAIR Act for News & Review

Professor Courtney Joslin commented for the Sacramento News & Review on the Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful (FAIR) Education Act, the new state law that adds LGBT individuals, Asian Pacific Islanders, and people with disabilities to the list of groups that should be included in California classrooms' social studies and history curriculum.  Professor Joslin explained that the FAIR Education Act helps schools comply with their nondiscrimination obligations.  "The discrimination obligation has been clear for over a decade," said Joslin, "and many schools ... have been making sure that their curriculum reflects the diversity of the state."

Professor Joslin is a scholar in the field of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and non-marital couples.
