Professor Joslin Comments on Bias Suit Settlement for Bee
Professor Courtney Joslin commented for the Sacramento Bee on the City of Roseville's settlement of a lawsuit alleging that the city's police department harassed and discriminated against gay officers and officers perceived to be gay. The city paid $490,000 to settle the suit.
California employers can be held liable for discriminating against people on the basis of sexual orientation or for allowing "sufficiently severe and pervasive" harassment to take place, Professor Joslin explained.
