Professor Johnson Participates in National Academies Workshop
On Nov. 22, Professor Kevin Johnson spoke as part of the workshop “Policies, Practices, and Systems to Retain and Advance Black People in SEM.”
Hosted by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Roundtable on Black Men and Black Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine (SEM), the workshop addressed systems of support that help increase resilience for early, middle and late-career Black professional across SEM fields.
Kevin R. Johnson is a distinguished professor of law, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law, and Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law. Johnson also has an appointment as professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He served as dean of UC Davis Law from 2008 to 2024. Johnson is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
