Professor Johnson Moderates Talk with Justice Sonia Sotomayor
On Feb. 6, Professor and former Dean Kevin R. Johnson had the extraordinary honor of moderating a discussion with Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the Supreme Court of the United States at UCLA School of Law.
Johnson moderated the talk in his capacity as president of the California Unity Bar, which sponsored the event along with two others with Justice Sotomayor that day.
In a story about the UCLA event published on the the law school's website, Johnson lauded Justice Sotomayor's interactions with audience members:
“In gracious fashion, with wit and wisdom, Justice Sotomayor inspired law students, judges, and attorneys. Responding to student questions with humanity as well as intelligence, Justice Sotomayor demonstrated just why she is a ‘wise Latina,’ words she spoke at an academic conference years ago that made her famous.”
