Professor Johnson Awarded Legal Services of Northern California’s Service Award

Professor Emeritus Kevin R. Johnson received the Legal Services of Northern California’s Service Award at the organization’s 70th Anniversary Celebration on Sept. 17.

The event, “70 Years: Celebrating Our Legacy, Shaping Our Future,” commended the organization’s mission-driven advocacy and honored important members of the LSNC community. 

Johnson served as president of the LSNC’s Board of Directors for 25 years. In his role, he built a strong partnership between LSNC and UC Davis School of Law, which continues today.

Kevin R. Johnson is a distinguished professor of law and Chicanx Studies emeritus and director of the Aoki Center. He is the former Mabie/Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and he served as dean of UC Davis Law from 2008 to 2024. Johnson is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law and civil rights.
