Professor Ikemoto Speaks on Reproductive Technology Issues at Georgia State

Professor Lisa Ikemoto delivered a lecture on "Taking Women to Market: Eggs, Embryos, and Informed Consent" at the Georgia State University College of Law's Center for Law, Health & Society on January 26.  The lecture covered ethical and legal issues related to reproductive technology and human embryonic stem cell research, and challenged the way in which informed consent is used to procure human egg cells and embryos for these enterprises.

Lisa Ikemoto teaches bioethics and health law courses at the UC Davis School of Law.  She has written extensively on genetic and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care.  Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
