Professor Hing Speaks at San Francisco Immigration Reform Symposium

Professor Bill Ong Hing spoke at "A Symposium on Comprehensive Immigration Reform: San Francisco's Role in Shaping National Immigration Policy," in San Francisco on November 9.  The event, sponsored by the San Francisco Immigrant Rights Commission and the Office of Civic Engagement & Immigrant Affairs, was designed to offer insight from national experts on comprehensive immigration reform and how local governments, commissions and community organizations can weigh in on the issues.  Joining Professor Hing in the discussion were Cindy Avitia, Congressional Assistant, Office of Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren; Mary Giovagnoli, Director, Immigration Policy Center of the American Immigration Council; and Nelly Reyes, Director, Nelly Reyes Immigration Services.

Bill Ong Hing is recognized nationally as an immigration law and community lawyering expert. He is the founder of the Immigrant Legal Resource Center in San Francisco.
