Professor Green, Philip Person '11 Co-author Article for Real Property

Professor Lawrence Green and student Philip Person '11 recently co-authored an article entitled "Legislature Grapples with Unlawful Restrictive Covenants."  The article was published in the California Real Property Journal, a publication of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar. The article discusses how the state Legislature has spent years trying to find a suitable method to remove unlawful restrictive covenants from the public records.  It also suggests approaches to affirmatively address unlawful restrictions.  

Professor Green, a Legal Research and Writing professor at King Hall, was formerly counsel for the California Land Title Association (CLTA) where he represented the title insurance industry in California.  He is a member of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar and a previous contributor the California Real Property Journal.  

Person is a second-year student at King Hall.  He is currently a judicial extern for Judge James S. Ware of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. He previously served as a judicial extern to Chief Justice Ronald M. George of the California Supreme Court.
