Professor Amann Comments on Rendition Case for CNN/KSRO Radio
Professor Diane Marie Amann commented for CNN/KRSO radio on a lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of five non-U.S. citizens who were arrested and allegedly transferred to countries where they were tortured as part of the interrogation. The Bush administration had invoked a "state secrets" privilege in opposing the suit, and on February 9 the Obama administration did the same. Professor Amann's KRSO interview covered a wide range of topics associated with the "state secrets" privilege and the detention of terrorism suspects.
