Professor Afsharipour Delivers Lectures in Taiwan
Professor Afra Afsharipour delivered two lectures as a visiting scholar in Taiwan in early December. National Chung Hsing University in Taichung hosted Afsharipour’s visit.
At National Chung Hsing University, Afsharipour presented her 2024 article “ESG Dealmaking,” (University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law), which contributes to her broader research agenda on sustainability and corporate governance, as well as her research on merger and acquisitions transactions. Afsharipour’s recent work in these areas includes:

At National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu, Afsharipour discussed her 2023 University of Chicago Law Review article “Gender and the Social Structure of Exclusion in U.S. Corporate Law” (co-authored with Matthew Jennejohn) and some of her other work on inequality in corporate law and governance. This research includes:

Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, transactional law, and the legal profession. From 2018-2024, she served as Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Her scholarship has appeared in the Columbia Law Review, University of Chicago Law Review, Minnesota Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, and UC Davis Law Review, among other leading publications.
