Professor Carlton F.W. Larson discussed the law of sedition in a PolitiFact article about potential charges against suspects in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

"Since the crime is seditious conspiracy, I am not too worried about the ugly history of the 1798 and 1918 Sedition Acts," Larson told PolitiFact.
