Nicolas '74 Directs African Methodist Episcopal Church Service and Development Agency

Robert Nicolas 74 is executive director of the African Methodist Episcopal Church Service (AME-SADA), which was founded in part to address many of the health, education and social issues that Haitians face in their quest for a better life. Born in Haiti, Nicolas has been executive director of AME-SADA for the past four years. Prior to his AME-SADA tenure, he was a partner in Curtis Lewis & Associates, PC, where he handled all special projects for international clients in the Caribbean, Europe and Africa. In the late 1980s he was Country Director for the Peace Corps, representing the United States in the Republic of Togo. Throughout his career, Nicolas has worked extensively in educational management program design, as vice president of International Programs, Development Assistance Corporation (DAC), Washington, D.C., and program coordinator, Phelps-Stokes Fund, Washington Bureau. He was a law clerk for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and speaks fluent French and Haitian Creole.
