Judge Marla O. Anderson '86 Honored by Monterey County Women Lawyers Association

Judge Marla O. Anderson '86 will be honored by the Monterey County Women Lawyers Association with the Lady Justice Lifetime Achievement Award for Legal Advocacy and Community Service at a dinner in her honor on December 3.

Appointed to the Monterey County Superior Court bench by Governor Pete Wilson in 1995, Judge Anderson was elected by the judiciary to serve as assistant presiding judge in 2011, followed by two years as presiding judge.  During that time, she is credited with implementing a strategic plan to improve judicial administration.

Judge Anderson also has served as a faculty member at B.E. Witkin Judicial College of California since 1997, including service as Assistant Dean from 2011-2012 and Dean from 2013-2014. She is also a member of the Trial Court Presiding Judges Advisory Committee and Executive Committee. In 2014, she was appointed to the California Judicial Council by Chief Justice of California Tani Cantil-Sakauye '84.
