Marc Levinson '73 Named American Lawyer Dealmaker of the Year
Marc Levinson '73 recently was named by American Lawyer as one of the magazine's "Dealmakers of the Year" in 2008 in honor of his leadership role handling the complex bankruptcy case of the City of Vallejo, the largest California city ever to seek Chapter 9 protection. As a restructuring partner working out of the Sacramento office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Levinson won praise for his able handling of the case, which was sternly opposed by the city's police, fire, and other unions and required recurrent negotiations and court battles with the unions. Levinson has also been named by Chambers USA as one of the top restructuring lawyers in California.
