Lei-Chala Wilson '89 Receives California 79th Assembly District Woman of the Year Award

Lei-Chala Wilson '89, President of the San Diego Brach of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, has been selected to receive the Woman of the Year Award for the 79th Assembly District. Wilson, who was the Western Regional Champion of the ABA National Trial Competition as a third-year student at King Hall, worked as an attorney with the San Diego Public Defender's office for 24 years.  Now in her sixth year as President of the San Diego NAACP, Wilson has is also a past president of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., San Diego Section, and has served as a member in numerous community and professional groups.
