Lawrence Brown '89 Featured in Sacramento Bee

Lawrence Brown '89 was the subject of a recent article in the Sacramento Bee analyzing his tenure as Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of California, a position he held for 10 months during 2009.  Brown was appointed in January after McGregor Scott resigned in late 2008 and served until President Barack Obama chose Benjamin Wagner for the position in November.  Brown will stay on as an executive assistant U.S. attorney under Wagner.

The article notes several significant and controversial decisions that Brown made during 2009 and reports Wagner's comment that "Bombs were going off all over the place. Larry Brown ... handled these difficult matters very well."  Wagner also states that he is "grateful" Brown has decided to stay on with the Eastern District, stating that, "As much as anything else, he is a decent human being."
