Kalmanovitz Gift Draws Media Coverage
The Kalmanovitz Charitable Foundation's gift of $1 million to the UC Davis School of Law to support of the King Hall Expansion and Renovation Project drew media coverage from the Sacramento Bee, local NPR affiliate KXJZ, the California Aggie, and the Sacramento Business Journal last week following a university press release. The gift, which came about largely as a result of the efforts of King Hall Alumni Board Member Yeoryios Apallas '72, will name the Paul and Lydia Kalmanovitz Appellate Courtroom that will grace the entrance of the new wing of the King Hall addition. Plans are already underway to hold arguments in the new courtroom by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the California Supreme Court, and the California Court of Appeal.
