Judge Stacy Boulware Eurie '95 Honored as Judicial Officer of the Year

Judge Stacy Boulware Eurie '95, Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court for Sacramento County, has been honored as the Chief Probation Officers of California's 2015 Judicial Officer of the Year. The award recognizes her leadership in working for juvenile justice reform in Sacramento County.

Among her many achievements, Judge Boulware Eurie led an overhaul of the county's approach to young people who cross over from the dependency system to the delinquency system, working for increased collaboration between Child Protective Services and the Probation Department. She also worked to draw attention to the need for, and design, reforms regarding the treatment of children who have been commercially sexually exploited, including the creation of a special court docket to serve those children. She has also been active in education, creating a Truancy Court to help keep kids in school and working to help change policies that were resulting in disproportionate numbers of suspensions and expulsions.
