Judge Nancy Wieben Stock '76 Named Advisory Committee Chair

Chief Justice Ronald M. George appointed Judge Nancy Wieben Stock '76, the presiding judge of the Orange County Superior Court, as chair of the Trial Court Presiding Judges Advisory Committee. The committee, which comprises the presiding judges in each of the states 58 counties, makes recommendations to the Judicial Council of California on issues affecting the trial courts.

Stock's appointment as chair of the advisory committee also places her on the Judicial Council as an advisory member. Stock, 55, began her two-year term as presiding judge of the Orange County Superior Court in January. She has been active in the statewide Bench-Bar Coalition and serves as co-chair of the Judicial Council's Model Jury Summons Work Group. She also has served as a member of the Judicial Councils Advisory Committee on Family and Juvenile Law. Governor George Deukmejian appointed Stock to the Superior Court in 1990. Before becoming a judge, she was a federal prosecutor for 12 years.
