J.J. Mulligan '15 Interviewed by National Public Radio on Immigration ‘Raids'
J.J. Mulligan '15 was interviewed on the National Public Radio program Around the Nation regarding "raids" conducted by the Department of Homeland Security against undocumented immigrants, many of them recent arrivals from Central America.
Mulligan, an attorney with Brooklyn-based advovacy organization Atlas: DIY, is interviewed on the program about his work contacting individuals who have recently lost immigration cases and discussing with them the possibility of deportation. "The government showing up in the middle of the night at your home, pounding at the door, that's terrifying," Mulligan says. "These are people who have lived in the shadows, and that's their biggest fear realized."
