Jay Carlisle '69 Endows King Hall Scholarship

Jay Carlisle 69Jay Carlisle '69, Professor of Law at Pace Law School in White Plains, New York, has made a planned gift to establish the Jay C. Carlisle New York Endowed Scholarship Fund.  The scholarship will provide support to third-year King Hall students who are interested in returning or relocating to the state of New York to practice law, attend graduate school, or further their legal educations, including clerkships or internships.

"What a privilege it is for me to make a small contribution in my estate towards providing a scholarship for UC Davis law students," Carlisle said. "I am hopeful other members of my Class of 1969 will do the same. We received a superb legal education with an almost non-existent tuition, and we should pay back whatever we can to help future King Hall students."

Carlisle joined Pace in 1978 and has taught courses in Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Negotiations, Professional Responsibility, Civil Litigation in New York, Dispute Resolution, Remedies, Evidence, and Civil Rights Law and the Legal Profession. Recently, he was honored with the Pace Law School Barbara Salken Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association's Academic Excellence Award.

Planned gifts are an integral part of the Law School's strategy to increase private support and continue to offer the best in legal education to outstanding students of all backgrounds.  To find out how you can support UC Davis School of Law, please contact Karen Charney, assistant dean for Development and Alumni Relations, at [email protected].
