James Soong '95 Joins McDermott Will & Emery

The Silicon Valley office of McDermott Will & Emery has announced that James W. Soong '95 will join the firm. Soong will focus on intellectual property litigation. He formerly served as director of intellectual property at Siebel Systems, Inc., where he was in charge of patent and intellectual property litigation and procurement worldwide, and advised on IP-related issues in licensing, standards, mergers and acquisitions, employment, and other corporate matters. He also has substantial experience in private practice in patent litigation involving high-technology multinationals in the electronics and software industries. In addition, his experience includes preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, rendering non-infringement/ invalidity opinions, and drafting license agreements.
