Immigration Law Clinic Holds Successful Naturalization Workshop
The Immigration Law Clinic collaborated with the UC Immigrant Legal Services Center and King Hall’s committed social justice-minded students and alumni on a successful naturalization workshop on Nov. 19.
Students from the Immigration Law Clinic and Immigration Law Association Ivette Arriaga, Heidi Bowles, Simran Chahal, Wendy Garcia-Nava, Perla Gonzalez, Erik Nilsen, Gabriela Posada, Brenda Quintanilla Lopez, Hector Sanchez Castaneda, Luiz Gomes Varjao and Hannah Zeltzer assisted Yolo County residents in applying for naturalization and fee assistance.
King Hall alums Apurva Behal, Tally Kingsnorth, and (UC Immigrant Legal Services Center Managing Attorney) Rachel Ray provided final review of applications. Martha Jaime provided critical support before, during and after the workshop.
Professor, Immigration Law Clinic Co-director and California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation Executive Director Amagda Pérez also wished to thank the foundation’s Juanita Ontiveros, Álvaro Arroyo, Megali Arroyo-Pérez and Quetzali Arroyo-Pérez for their support and assistance throughout the workshop and Sergio Perez and Ivette Arriaga for pre-screening all the applicants.
