Hatch '87 Named Partner at Major, Lindsey & Africa
Dan Hatch '87 was named partner at Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA). Hatch is the leader of MLA's Partner Practice Group in Southern California. In the past year, he was responsible for opening the Los Angeles offices of the top two law firms entering the Southern California market.
Hatch's practice is focused on two areas: providing professional representation for partners seeking an alternative partnership and providing focused strategic search efforts for law firm clients. Prior to recruiting, Hatch had 16 years of extensive experience in both corporate and private law. He attended UCLA, where he earned a B.S. with honors, and earned a J.D. in the top of his class from the UC Davis School of Law. After spending his first summer clerking with Paul Hastings, he spent his early career as a real estate attorney with Allen, Matkins et al., and was subsequently hired by Home Depot to start a legal department for the company's Western Division. Over a 12-year period, he built and managed a legal team to handle numerous legal issues, but was most influential in the real estate and development activities of Home Depot's prolific growth throughout the 90s. It was his work here that earned him recognition as one of the Top 20 Lawyers Under 40 in California by the California Daily Journal.
