Harrell '88 Appointed to Fresno County Superior Court

Alvin M. Harrell '88 was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to a judgeship in the Fresno County Superior Court.

Harrell, 44, of Clovis, has served as the assistant district attorney since 2004, after serving as a supervising deputy district attorney of the gang prosecution unit in 2003 and a deputy district attorney from 1994 to 2003 for the Fresno County District Attorney's Office. In addition, he was an associate with Thierman, Cook, Brown & Prager from 1989 to 1991 and as an associate with Lerrigo, Nibler, Berryman, Coleman & Bennett from 1991 to 1994. Harrell earned a Juris Doctorate degree from UC Davis School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree from the UC Riverside. He fills one of the new positions created by Senate Bill 56. Harrell is a Republican.
