Haratani '84 in Top 100 California's Leading Lawyers List
Joan M. Haratani '84 was included in the Daily Journal's list of Top 100 California's Leading Lawyers. The Daily Journal assembles the Top 100 list in order to reflect the people at the top of the profession and the work they do. The list was released September 20, 2007.
Haratani is a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in San Francisco. She has an extensive trial and pretrial practice, with a particular emphasis on products liability and complex commercial disputes. She is the past president of the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF) and the first female of color president of BASF in its 134-year history.
The Daily Journal noted: The former president of the Bar Association of San Francisco continues to deliver results for Fortune 100 clients. Haratani successfully fended off a global class action this year that accused the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, of relying on Third World sweatshop labor.
