Gary Loveridge '72 Rejoins McDonough Holland & Allen

Gary Loveridge '72, a 35-year veteran health-care attorney, has rejoined McDonough Holland & Allen, a multi-service firm based primarily in Sacramento and Oakland.   Formerly McDonough's managing shareholder and Health Care Practice Group leader, Loveridge rejoins the firm after serving as senior vice president and general counsel for Sutter Health in Sacramento.

Loveridge joined McDonough as a litigator shortly after graduation from King Hall and, after a few years, began devoting his practice to health-care clients such as Sutter Community Hospital and Roseville Community Hospital.  He rose to become head of the firm's Health Care Practice Group in 1982 and served as the firm's managing shareholder from 1990-1992.  Loveridge went to Sutter Health in 1992 and provided legal and overall business counsel in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, risk management, regulatory compliance, governance and nonprofit tax exempt matters. He was also a member of Sutter Health's senior management team where he contributed to the development and implementation of Sutter Health's strategic plans, and has been an active member of local, state and national health care attorney associations including the California Society for Health Care Attorneys, which he served as president, and the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys.
