Financial Times Cites Senior Associate Dean Afsharipour's Research on Women and M&A

An Oct. 29 Financial Times story about law firms’ efforts to close the gender gap in senior leadership cited Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Afra Afsharipour’s widely publicized 2021 UC Irvine Law Review article “Women and M&A.”

Afsharipour’s research found that women made up only a small percentage of lead advisors for law firms handling the biggest mergers and acquisitions deals.

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor Afra Afsharipour’s areas of research include comparative corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional law. Her scholarship has appeared in or is forthcoming in numerous law reviews, including the Columbia Law Review, the University of Chicago Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, the Vanderbilt Law Review, and the UC Davis Law Review.
