Environmental Law Center Announces Lecture Series
King Hall's California Environmental Law & Policy Center has announced its Fall 2011 Speakers' Series. Events include:
- Monday, September 12th: Professor Tim Duane of UC Santa Cruz and Vermont Law School will present a talk on "Greening the Grid," focusing on policy options and recommendations to guide the transition of California's electricity generation and transmission industries in an era of climate change.
- Wednesday, September 28th: Pacific Legal Foundation attorney Damien Schiff will preview the pending environmental and constitutional law case he will be arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court later this year: Sackett v. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
- Tuesday, October 11th: Frances Spivy-Weber, Vice-Chair of California's State Water Resources Control Board, will discuss the key, water-related legal and policy issues currently confronting the Board.
- Thursday, November 10th: David Victor, Director of UC San Diego's Laboratory on International Law and Regulation, will present a talk on "Gridlock in International Law on Global Warming: New Strategies for Making Progress." (Professor Victor's talk is co-sponsored by the Law School's California International Law Center at King Hall.)
