Demetrius Shelton '93 Attends White House Screening of Thurgood

At the invitation of first lady Michelle Obama, National Bar Association President Demetrius Shelton '93 attended a private screening of Thurgood, a film tribute to Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, on February 17. 

Shelton said he "commends the Obamas and the producers of Thurgood for this tribute to Justice Marshall, and for paying homage to the tremendous role Justice Marshall played in advancing civil rights and jurisprudence."

While at the White House, Shelton also presented the first lady with the National Bar Association's pipeline publication, "How the Law Treats You Differently When You Turn 18."
