Dean Johnson Presents Racial Profiling Article at Georgetown Symposium
Dean Kevin R. Johnson presented his article, "How Racial Profiling in America Became the Law of the Land: United States v. Brignoni-Ponce and Whren v. United States and the Need for Truly Rebellious Lawyering," at the Georgetown Law Journal 2010 Symposium on "Post-racialism in American Law and Lawyering." The Symposium brought together essays and articles from six legal scholars, addressing the notion of "post-racialism" and its relevance for legal practice.
The symposium, including part of Dean Johnson's presentation, was reported on in "The BLT: The Blog of Legal Times."
Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
