Dean Johnson Comments for Dallas Morning News on Texas' Rift with Federal Officials
Dean Kevin R. Johnson spoke to the Dallas Morning News for a Jan. 12 story about the Biden administration accusing Texas officials of prohibiting Border Patrol agents’ access to a key stretch of the U.S. border with Mexico.
“This is the governor who complains they haven’t been enforcing border (security) laws, and now he’s making it impossible for them to get to the border,” Johnson, referring to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, told the newspaper.
Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
