Dean Johnson-Chaired Committee Sets Program for AALS Deans Forum

The program has been set for the Deans Forum on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 at the Association of American Law Schools’ annual meeting in San Diego. Dean Kevin R. Johnson chaired the committee that formulated the program, titled "The Future."

The morning plenary session with San Diego State University President Adela de la Torre will address “Preparing for, and Responding to, Change,” after which attendees will dig deeper into the themes of the plenary in facilitated small groups.

Participants will have opportunities to focus in on topics of particular relevance to them during the morning and afternoon breakout sessions. In the morning, they can choose from community and continuity, law school economics, development, faculty and academic freedom, and the bar exam, and in the afternoon, from technology and big data, admissions and non-JD programming, career services, and student learning in a post-pandemic era.

Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
