Daniel Arkof '15 Set to Argue Before U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
Daniel Arkof '15 is scheduled to argue before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on April 13 in a hearing that will be televised live on video screens around King Hall.
Arkof will appear before a panel consisting of Senior Circuit Judge Mary M. Schroeder, Judge N.R. (Randy) Smith, and United States District Judge Roger T. Benitez, sitting by designation. Working under the direction of Professor Carter "Cappy" White, supervising attorney with the King Hall Civil Rights Clinic, Arkof will represent the plaintiff-appellant in Fields v. Burson, an action alleging Eighth and First Amendment claims against prison officials, to be represented by Nevada's Solicitor General. The case is scheduled to be heard third on the 9:00 a.m. docket on April 13 at the James R. Browning U.S. Courthouse in San Francisco.
"I am excited for the opportunity to argue before the Ninth Circuit and am indebted to Professor White and other King Hall professors and faculty members who have devoted time to my preparation," said Arkof.
