Daily Journal Quotes Professor White, Mentions Daria Clecicov '21

A July 30 Daily Journal profile of Eastern District Magistrate Judge Jeremy Peterson quoted Professor Carter White in reference to a case former Civil Rights Clinic student Daria Clericov '21 argued and won before Peterson. 

The argument resulted in a published decision: Williams v. Baker, 487 F.Supp.3d 918 (E.D. Cal. 2020) (Plaintiff’s Bivens action for Eighth Amendment excessive force allowed to proceed in light of Ziglar v. Abbasi, 137 S.Ct. 1843 (2017)). Read the story.

Carter "Cappy" White is the supervising attorney of the law school’s Civil Rights Clinic. He has been a trial and appellate lawyer for over 25 years, emphasizing civil rights, employment discrimination, and personal injury cases. He also teaches courses in Civil Rights and Pretrial Skills.
