Daily Journal Quotes Professor Carter on Ninth Circuit Case

Professor Carter White spoke to the Daily Journal in August about a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit case in which the Civil Rights Clinic advocated for a mother’s right to sue a school district for racial bias on behalf of her children.

A three-judge panel ruled that the mother could not sue, but Civil Rights Clinic Supervising Attorney White and other attorneys are seeking an en banc review.

Carter “Cappy” White has been the supervising attorney of the King Hall Civil Rights Clinic for more than 23 years. He has been a trial and appellate lawyer for more than 35 years. The primary emphasis of his work is protecting the civil rights of incarcerated people. He has also taught courses at the law school in civil rights and pretrial skills.
